SCHOOL PRINCIPAL — Independent Faith-Based School (South-Eastern Suburbs, Melbourne)

A well-established small independent boys’ school (with a developing girls’ department) in Melbourne’s South-Eastern suburbs is seeking an experienced and values-driven Principal.
The school delivers a dual curriculum (General Studies and Religious Studies) and consistently achieves strong VCE outcomes in a disciplined, respectful and supportive learning environment. The Principal is the most senior secular/general studies educational leader of the school.
About the Role:
- Senior Executive appointment
- Strategic and operational leadership across ELC – Year 12, with a focus on Years 7 – VCE
- Drive academic excellence, discipline, staff capability and student wellbeing
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, child safety and stakeholder confidence
- Work collaboratively with program leaders to ensure cohesive delivery of both curricula
- Represent the school professionally to families, staff and the wider community
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven senior leadership in a VCE secondary school as Principal / Deputy Principal / Head of Secondary, or equivalent
- Demonstrated success in curriculum and assessment leadership (Years 7 – VCE)
- Demonstrated success in lifting academic standards and maintaining consistent behaviour expectations
- Experience in single-sex boys’ school highly regarded (not essential)
- Skilled communicator with credibility across Boards, parents, staff and external stakeholders
- Commercially and operationally astute — experienced in budgets, risk, regulation and long-range planning
- Able to lead change with judgement, and calm while respecting established culture and context
- Experience in independent or faith-based schools highly regarded (not essential)
- Current VIT registration or eligibility and WWCC essential
