The Opportunity:
On behalf of SMCOC, we are seeking an inspiring and dedicated educational leader to become their next College Principal. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional committed to advancing the academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth of students. The Principal will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the College, ensuring a high-quality educational experience that aligns with SMCOC’s values and Coptic Orthodox foundations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visionary Leadership: Champion the College’s vision and mission, advancing its strategic goals in partnership with the College Board and broader community.
- Educational Leadership: Lead a supportive and inclusive educational environment that promotes excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation in teaching and learning.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic growth and fiscal planning to support the College’s future direction.
- Organisational Leadership: Manage resources effectively to create an optimal learning environment, overseeing staffing, facilities, and daily operations.
- Governance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and provide regular, clear communication with the College Board on policy, financial, and risk management matters.
- Coptic Orthodox Leadership: Embrace and promote the Coptic Orthodox ethos of the College, integrating faith and cultural values into the school’s curriculum and daily life.
- Administrative Leadership: Oversee the efficient functioning of all College activities and ensure policies are well-managed and align with best practices.
About You:
- Proven experience in educational leadership (ideally as Principal, Deputy Principal, or Assistant Principal), preferably within a multicultural or faith-based school environment.
- Commitment to faith-based education and ability to embrace and promote the ethos, pedagogy, and values of the College.
- Current and demonstrated knowledge and capability working with the Australian Curriculum, Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority and all compliance related matters (desirable, but not essential)
- Strong understanding of the Australian Education System gained from local experience (desirable, but not essential).
- Financial and strategic planning experience, with the ability to develop and implement growth strategies.
- An advocate for continuous improvement in education, with strong skills in curriculum development and staff professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, parents, and the wider Coptic community.
