ABOUT Yesodei HaTorah:

Founded in 1999, Yesodei HaTorah Yeshiva (YHT) is an independent boys’ Yeshiva with a small but developing girls’ department. YHT provides the highest standard of Kodesh and General Studies education from Early Learning (3 years-old) to Year 12 (VCE/matriculation – Grade 12; 18 Years-old).

When YHT first opened its doors in 1999, it was located at Elwood Shule’s classrooms and had just 6 student and 3 part-time teachers. Today, YHT has over 180 students and is a paradigm of Torah-true education (Al Taharas HaKodesh) with outstanding General Studies and co-curricular opportunities.

In March 2022, YHT moved its High School to the Ormond campus. The campuses feature a full Beis Hamedrash, science labs, a performance hall, music rooms, libraries, sporting fields and quality teaching facilities and resources. YHT provides students and staff with access to ICT within the Hashkafic guidelines of the Moised.

In addition to the Ormond campus, there is a possible third campus for the girls’ program coming online in 2025, and a brand new ELC facility.

Today, YHT employs over 55 full-time equivalent staff, including enthusiastic Rebbeim, talented educators, administrators and support staff.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Menahel is the School’s most senior executive, responsible for the overall strategy and operations under the Board’s oversight and governance. This includes managing the Early Learning Centre, Primary (Elementary) School, Girls’ program, High School, fiscal management and enrolments.

The Menahel leads the delivery of outstanding Kodesh and General Studies education, enriches relationships with students, parents, and the wider community, ensures student wellbeing, provides people leadership, manages risk, and oversees the school’s strategy and finances.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for a talented Torah educator and leader to head a vital Jewish institution in Australia. He will need to gain a sound understanding of YHT’s community, culture and needs as he leads the School into its next exciting phase of development.

The Melbourne Holocaust Museum is Australia’s only institution solely dedicated to Holocaust education, research, and remembrance, fostering the values of tolerance, understanding, and preserving the testimonies of survivors. The award-winning museum and research centre reopened in a new five-storey building in November 2023.

The Museum CEO role is a unique opportunity to lead the Melbourne Holocaust Museum. In this role, you will provide dynamic leadership tothe organisation and lead the continued growth of the Museum as a world-class institution.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The CEO will lead Stand Up’s purpose-driven organisation, providing strategic vision and operational leadership while embodying the organisation’s core values of social justice, compassion, and community responsibility. 

The CEO will oversee the implementation of Stand Up’s bold new strategy, build bridges across diverse communities, and position Stand Up as a catalyst for positive change in contemporary Australia. 

The successful candidate will be values-driven and purpose-led in their approach to leadership; deeply reflective and self-aware in complex social environments, and able to navigate nuanced community dynamics; resilient and composed during periods of community tension or crisis; a relationship builder – trusted, warm and respectful across diverse groups; a confident public voice who can also nurture and develop teams; and bold in vision yet humble in approach – leading with both courage and curiosity. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and implement the organisation’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with Stand Up’s vision and values
  • Provide visionary leadership that balances long-term goals with agile crisis response capabilities
  • Drive innovative approaches to program development and community engagement
  • Lead organisational growth and development while honouring Stand Up’s 30-year legacy
  • Guide Stand Up’s role in building social cohesion in increasingly complex times

External Relations & Community Engagement

  • Serve as Stand Up’s primary public representative, articulating its purpose and vision with credibility, compassion, and clarity
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with diverse stakeholders, including the Jewish community, First Nations, multicultural groups, and partner organisations
  • Navigate complex community dynamics with cultural humility and deep listening
  • Convene diverse groups around shared values of social justice and community empowerment
  • Represent Stand Up in public forums, media engagements, and community events

Fundraising & Resource Development

  • Lead fundraising initiatives with confidence and inspiration, effectively communicating Stand Up’s impact and vision
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners
  • Oversee grant applications and reporting processes
  • Develop sustainable funding models in a competitive philanthropic landscape
  • Position Stand Up distinctively within the competitive fundraising environment

Organisational Leadership

  • Provide oversight for Stand Up’s operations, finances, governance, and compliance
  • Foster a collaborative organisational culture that empowers staff across locations (including NSW team)
  • Work closely with the COOs (currently structured as Internal and External roles) to ensure operational excellence
  • Engage productively with the Board and various subcommittees (Finance, Programs & Strategy, Governance, Development)
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on involvement when necessary
  • Drive a culture that exemplifies Jewish values while embracing diversity and inclusion

Program Leadership & Impact

  • Ensure all programs align with Stand Up’s mission and strategic objectives
  • Drive program evaluation to demonstrate impact and inform continuous improvement
  • Balance existing program excellence with innovation for emerging community needs
  • Oversee management of programs including Derech Eretz, Step Up, Schools programs, Tikkun Giving Circles, Come Together, and various fellowship initiatives
