With the pending retirement of the current Executive Director after more than 16 years of service, we are looking for the next Executive Director to lead the Australian Council of Jewish Schools.

About the Australian Council of Jewish Schools:

The Australian Council of Jewish Schools (ACJS), under its original name of the Australian Co-ordinating Committee of Jewish Day Schools, was established in 1982. The ACJS is the peak representative body of the Australian Jewish day schools.

The ACJS facilitates efficient governance, communication and compliance promoting shared resourcing between its member schools to drive better Jewish educational outcomes and performances.

About the role:

The primary purpose of the Executive Director role is to provide expertise and advice to the ACJS’s member schools regarding financial management and funds procurement.

Working closely with the National Co-Chairs, the Executive Director will:

  • Provide high-level, ongoing support in relation to government liaison to maximise funding from both State and Commonwealth Governments.
  • Assist schools with financial planning, including completion of DEST questionnaires, conduct grant reviews, compile relevant statistics, and advise on accounting matters.
  • Meet and liaise with schools’ bursars on a regular basis and provide quarterly reports and updates to each member school.
